VANJ is hosting the 2012 Spring Entrepreneurs Expo and Elevator Pitch Olympics Monday May 21 at the Mariott Hanover, Whippany NJ.  As many as 30 companies seeking funding showcase their companies to angels and investors. The day ends with the Elevator Pitch Olympics, where judges hold up signs to score presenters on their fundability and quality of their pitch. On Wed. May 23, 7PM, Jersey Shore Tech Meetup presents "Social Media Best Practices" with Alison Kimszal, new media business analyst at DefinedLogic LLC. On May 23, the NJTC will present its FinTech Conference addressing the needs of the financial sectors. The event will take place at Opera Solutions in Jersey City from 8:30 AM to 2 PM. Keynoting will be Robert O. Carr, Chairman and CEO of Heartland Payment Systems. Various tracks will discuss regulatory landscape, emerging technologies in capital markets, payment innovations. NJTC is urging developers to participate in its Mobile Application Forum and competition. The forum will take place June 14, 2012 from 2 PM to 7 PM at the Friend Center in Princeton. Working with the Canadian Consulate General, NJTC will present two panels and a Mobile Application Showcase where selected developers can make presentations. Deadlines for submissions is May 30. Walk with the Angels (June 6 from noon to 3PM) is a a roundtable event sponsored by NJEN which lets entrepreneurs meet with 10 groups of angels in a "reverse venture fair format." Entrepreneurs get to meet individually with each of the representatives and put their startups in front of people who can write a check.
